The department of internal medicine was founded in 1964. It is the division of Pruzhany Central District Hospital. The specialists of the department provide medical care to therapeutic patients.
The staff of the department includes:
- 2 physicians;
- 11 paramedics;
- 13 medical ssistants.

The capacity of the department is 60 beds.
The specialists of the department detect and treat:
- diseases of the cardiovascular system;
- diseases of the respiratory system;
- diseases of the gastrointestinal system;
- diseases of the endocrine system;
- diseases of blood;
- diseases of connective tissue (rheumatic diseases).
To detect a disease, they use laboratory testing, ultrasound examinations, X-ray, endoscopic examinations, ECG, 24-hour ECG monitoring, cardiac stress tests, spirography.
The inpatient care is provided in accordance with the guidelines for the provision of medical care to therapeutic patients.
The specialists of the department promote a healthy lifestyle and healthy eating habits among the patients. Besides, all patients get recommendations on further treatment, improvement of health and healthy eating when discharged.
