The specialists of the department of surgery provide inpatient surgical care to the citizens of the city and the district. The capacity of the department is 30 beds. It is located on the 3^rd floor of the surgery facility.

The specialists of the department provide emergency and planned medical care to the patients with surgical diseases, burns, freezing injuries and carry out rabies vaccination.

There are 2 nurses stations (septic and purulent), 2 wound dressing, 2 procedure rooms and wards, which comply to all sanitation and hygiene standards.

The surgery unit consists of two surgery blocks and has the advanced equipment.

The surgeons carry out all types of emergency surgery, i.e. surgery for acute abdominal conditions, emergency urological care, injuries of the abdomen and chest, thromboembolism of the extremities.

They also carry out planned surgery, including ambulatory surgery for hernias, kidney stone diseases (laparoscopic cholecystectomy), varicose veins of the lower extremities and ambulatory phlebectomy.

About 1700-1800 patients are treated at the department each year. The annual number of surgeries is about 1000, including complex and hi-tech ones.

Before visiting, please, take off your outer clothing, put on a gown and shoe guards.

You may visit patients

• on working days from 5.00PM to 7.00PM;
• on weekends and public holidays from 11.00AM to 1.00PM, from 5.00PM to 7.00PM.
